Funeral Cards

The SEFHG collects funeral cards as a form of historical record keeping. These cards are provided by the family as a tribute to their loved one and often have very important personal information which will be of value to historians. If you have any cards, no longer required by you, please forward them to the group to preserve for the future.

The Old Cemetery Working Bee

Members of the South East Family History Group and other volunteers continue to clean up and undertake minor repairs in the old section of the cemetery. This is an ongoing project that has seen great results. Thanks to all volunteers who have dedicated their time to this project.

Why Join a History Group?

There are many benefits to joining a family history group, either in the area you live or where your research interests lie. Family History groups such as ours provides access to local records, national and international information, along with advice and assistance in how to research your family history. Most people don't know where to start but a few quick hints to get you on the right track and a demonstration of how to find information is usually all that is needed to get enthused.

Our modest membership rates gives you free access to all physical and digital records we hold, whose titles you can search in the catalogue. Membership also allows you to learn from the free courses we run, join us on excursions, attend general meetings with interesting speakers, receive the quarterly newsletter and monthly eNews. Included in membership is two free hours of research carried out on your behalf each year.

You will find membership information and forms on our Members Page. We look forward to seeing you in person or hearing from you, if you live out of our region.
